Finding Information – Is the Account or Contact in Sage SalesLogix?
There are several methods for finding a contact, account, or opportunity in Sage SalesLogix Sales. For network Client users, the simplest and fastest way to find information is to click the Quick Find button located in the upper left of the Contacts, Accounts, or Opportunities Detail and List views.
You can also click certain fields in the Detail Views to initiate a lookup on that particular field. Detail views contain pre-defined (label) lookups. When you rest your mouse pointer on a label, it becomes a button that you can click to perform a lookup. For example, to search for an account, click the Account lookup label and type your search criteria in the Lookup Account dialog box.
For our situation, we need to find out if Tom Dale or Beacon Motors already exist in SalesLogix Sales before we enter the information from Tom’s business card. As previously stated, accounts contain one or more contacts, so the first step is to find out if the account exists in SalesLogix Sales.
To Lookup an account using the Sage SalesLogix
- In the Account Detail view, click the Accounts (Quick Find) button located in the upper left of the Detail view.
- Type the search criteria bea (for Beacon) in the Find box, and then click the magnifying glass (Find).
If Beacon Motors was in SalesLogix, it would appear in the list box. However, since Beacon Motors is not in SalesLogix, we need to add the contact and account.
