'Privileged Instruction' Error in SalesLogix Architect

Version: 6.x

Problem:

Access Violation or 'Privileged Instruction' error on exit of Account Detail active form in the Architect  sometimes followed by errors on exit of Architect.

Solution:

There is currently no workaround to prevent this random occurrence. In some instances, the error messages repeatedly display after the user selects OK. In those cases, open Task Manager, click the Processes tab, and then find and highlight Architect.exe. Finish by clicking End Process. After ending the process, you may have to close one more error box. This is scheduled for correction in a future release of SalesLogix.

Error examples:

One possible scenario is to open the existing Account Detail form in the Architect and then create a new account form, with Account Detail still open. Copy and paste controls from Account Detail to the new form, while adding some new controls. Leaving the Architect open, click 'X' to close the original Account Detail form. Now you may receive an Access Violation or other error, as well as errors on exiting the Architect.
